{Lookbook: Siesta Key}

As midwest natives, we have both figured out that the midwest is exactly where we do not want to spend the rest of our lives. When we vacation to new places it becomes clear to us that there is so much of the world we have not explored yet.

This week only one-half of this blog is in paradise while the other sits on the futon in her dorm writing this post.

Today's look is heavily inspired by the decade of free love. 70s inspired trends have been the focal point for our favorite designers and street-style bloggers.  From fringed accessories to free flowing silhouettes, we —along with the rest of the fashion industry—  have been pining after the perfect pieces to add to our spring and summer wardrobes.

This crochet beach cover-up is perfect for not only its intended purpose —to cover up a swimsuit— but it would also look perfect layered over a slip dress.

No other accessory can quite compete with the floppy hat. It is as trendy as it is classic, and it is the optimal way to protect your face from UV rays.

The rest of the look is accessorized with black wedges —another glorious invention from the 70s— and mixed stone jewelry.

Layered jewelry makes for the perfect photo-op, but be sure to leave them at home before you hit the beach.

You spent good money on that bathing suit. Let it shine through with a crochet cover up.

A floppy hat will shield your skin better than sunscreen ever will.
